Welcome to the Glens united Action Group web page. We are a local community group from the glens area of Forfar in Angus Scotland. We set up in the spring of 2005 to help better the area we live in, by tackling anti-social behaviour, improving the look of the area through landscaping and raising funds to help the kids in the area have better facilities to play. We also have a community flat where people can come and get help with any issues they may have by contacting various agencies by use of the Internet, telephone or in person by the use of drop in sessions from various council and voluntary bodies in the area. The flat can also be used for meetings, get-together's and social functions such as a children's group, family group and senior citizens group or parties.
The group his run by a committee chosen from the local residents by the residents. Anyone from the area is eligible to join and serve on the committee. We are always looking for anyone who is willing to help to serve on the management committee or who has any ideas for fundraising etc.
There will be regular public meetings to discuss any problems or ideas for the local area and a newsletter will be published and delivered to the households in the area and available on the web site. Any information and events planned will also be published on the web. We hope you find this site useful any comments/ queries can be sent to any of the addresses above.
There is a youth group which meets on a Monday evening for boys and on Tuesday evening for girls, this organises trips and activities for the children.
